New England Premiere, 5k prize and more…

May 25th, 2010 . by Elias

I hope these warmer months are treating you, your loved ones and all your respective projects and plans well. I’m very close to wrapping up editing on our new film “Gut”. It’s been a pretty amazing journey from script to screen so far and I’m really proud of what we accomplished. I look forward to be being able to show you the results of all the work of our amazing cast/crew soon.

In other news, my good friend Tom Justino’s short “With Anchovies…Without Mamma”, which I also edited, acted in and helped produce will be making it’s New England premiere this June 4th at the Berkshire International Film festival, and on top of that it’s actually nominated for an award and a $5k prize at the same event. For the remaining days of May you can watch the film for free online and vote your choice of what movie you think should win the award. Thanks in advance for your support, I hope you enjoy the film: View & Vote!

If you’d just like to show some support without watching any of the nominees you can also vote directly here: vote now!

Lastly, after ending our unfulfilled contract with our initial distributor after waiting nearly three years to be released, you can now check out the extended cut of “LovecraCked! The Movie”, featuring the new “Coo-coo-Cthulhu” segment, exclusively on Amazon Video on Demand, and yes there will still be a DVD release of the new cut soon as well.

Be well and stay in touch.

Till the next time, stay independent!

GUT, Dead Sucks and more…

April 1st, 2010 . by Elias

Just completed the 1st cut of our new feature “Gut”. Clocking in right now at around 1hr 50min, but there will no doubt be some tweaking/trimming. On to sound/design and scoring, and of course a trailer and official site.

“Dead Sucks” will be screening twice this April: at the Hampshire Film Festival in the UK and at the A Night of Horror Film International Festival in Sydney, Australia. Show date/time for DS at Hampshire is 4/20, 6-10pm screening block, and TBA for the moment at A Night of Horror. Details posted soon.

Also pleased to announce, that after taking the award for best editing at this year’s Treasure Coast Film Festival, “With Anchovies…Without Mamma”, the short I edited, acted in and helped produce has been added to the lineup of the 5th annual Berkshire International Film Festival and will be screening this June, more details soon.

Enjoy the sunny days ahead!

2010…

January 30th, 2010 . by Elias

Greetings and salutations! 2009 was a busy and productive year, and 2010 shows no signs of slowing down either. Monday January 25th marked the wrap of our SFX unit shoot for our new feature film “GUT”. I will now be burying myself in the process of cutting so you’ll be able to see the film as soon as possible. Look for an official “GUT” website and trailer very soon!

Our suicidal lil’ vampire short, “Dead Sucks”, continues to make the rounds at fests and will premiere online soon as well.

In related news, my friend Tom just completed a short mockumentary named “With Anchovies… Without Mamma”, which I co-produced, edited and acted in, and it’s been kicking ass and taking names with the Audience Choice Award at the 2009 CMJ Film Fest and two more nominations at the upcoming Treasure Coast International Film Festival. You can check out a trailer for the project at it’s official site withoutmammafilm.com or on Vimeo below…

Last but not least, BiFF’s 2006 experimental amalgamation of Lovecraftian weirdness, “LovecraCked! The Movie”, is waiting in the wings with an extended, remastered DVD cut featuring new bonus materials and a commentary track that will make your brain bleed. Look for it in the not too distant future at many online retailers and Netflix.

Wishing you all the best in 2010! More soon!

Join us on our next production!

I’m pleased to announce that we’re seeking crew members/collaborators for our next low budget feature intended to be the first in a series of psychological thrillers, and planned to be shot in NY/NJ this fall. We’re actively engaged in pursuing additional financing with which to pay our cast/crew, but there are unfortunately no guarantees yet that this will come through so for the time all positions will have to be on a meals/transport/credit/copy basis. Depending upon the position, reimbursement for necessary materials and supplies will also be covered.

The folks behind this project are all friends who’ve traded blood and sweat on many a film in the past and we’re looking to find other kindred spirits to collaborate with us on this project and others in the future. The script and subject matter are strong/character based, and designed to be shot effectively within a low budget, utilizing minimal locations, sets, actors and effects.

Below are the positions we’re currently looking to fill. Prior experience is not required, but preferred.

Look forward to hearing from you.
